APPLICATION OF GAUSS LAW

 (a) field due to an infinitely long straight charged wire-
Electric flux through Gaussian surface = flux through the curved cylindrical part of the surface
=E×2πrl

Surface includes charge   λl
  Where λ is the surface charge density
                   E×2πrl = λl / є0
                      E =λ/2 πє0 r

  1. The electric field due to a long electric current carrying wire induces magnetic field around it and according to the Oersted we can calculate its value.
